Happy Chilling, Fellow Weather Vanes,

Let’s all celebrate a surfeit of reader replies with our special edition of
"Reader Reply of the Week Week."

We are honored to share our very first "Corrections" item, thanks to sharp-eyed and curious readers Calvin Burgamy of Pine Lake, Georgia, and Tom Kelley of Morro Bay, California. The link to our favorite Wikipedia page last week got hinky. We’re pretty sure the Russians did it. Anyway, everyone who either (did) or (did not) click on the link should try again, and drag your cursor across the names. It’s so fun.

Our main Reader Reply of the Week, thanks to Cynthia Shelley of Coconut Grove, Florida, has spawned an entirely new Flossiphocal Category, hereby known as either "I’ll Drink to That" or "Too Good To Be True."

. . .  But it is true, folks. We can now save the planet by imbibing vodka.
And we’re pretty sure that the Russians are not involved. But they wanna drink to it.

From high above the swamp in Washington, D.C., we are grateful to receive a Reader Contribution To Our Staff Library from Graham Brookie:

"The Little Book of Lost Words" contains actual words that were used by actual people once upon an actual time. Feature these examples worthy of our very own Fictionary:
Slugabed: A person who sleeps in later than is appropriate. (16th C.)
Snool: An obedient, submissive person who willingly bows to authority. (18th C.)

And from Bill Assphemy of Thicket Portage, Manitoba, we are extremely happy to share a slice that speaks for itself.
Extreme. Way.

Speaking of extremes, it doesn’t get much wilder than freeform quilting, thanks to May Hemm of Bogue Chitto, Alabama.
Adventures. Quilting.
Fictionary Friday: Words You Need. Whether you know it or not. (Contributed by Jeffrey Benson of Brookline, Massachusetts.)
Flushtone (flush tohn) Noun: the sound coming from the toilet as the tank refills, made memorable when your cell phone drops in the bowl, forcing you to contemplate retrieval strategies
In a sentence: The flushtone wailed like distant bagpipes, played in the rain, with a faint overtone of clanging radiator pipes.

Wikipedia Friday Favorite:
In honor of the intersection of curiosity and logarithmically expanding human knowledge, we offer a weekly favorite obscure Wikipedia page. And, well, speaking of the Extreme Way once again, this guy really did live the extreme life. And he’s memorialized in song with lyrics by Woody Guthrie, put to music by Wilco:

Fizzdom Friday: from our collection of favorite quotes.
"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." John Lennon

Friday Fluff: Call to Action
Keep 'em coming, folks. Readers and Staff alike love Reader Replies, contributions, corrections, complaints, rants, soliloquies, flights of fancy, and raw delusion.

Write if you (do) or (do not).

Yours in quilted adventure,
Jonathan
